Mayweather demolishes Cotto to become WBA world champion (Video)

Floyd Mayweather Jr. won the WBA world super welterweight trophy after defeating, by clear decision, Miguel Cotto, during a gala held at the MGM Arena in Las Vegas on Saturday 05-05-2012.


Thus Floyd Mayweather remained invincible across his boxing career and claimed the bout against Cotto by unanimous points decision which showed 117-111, 118-110, 117-111.

The American boxer has received a total amount of 60 million dollars for this match. Floyd Mayweather (34), who returned in September 2011 after a break of 18 months, won the world belt to seven different categories. For middle welterweight category he boxed only once, in 2007, against Oscar de la Hoya, getting a victory, which earned him the WBC title.
