Maradona punished and banned by FIFA for his TV outburst

Diego Armando Maradona, the trainer of Argentina national football team was banned for two months and fined $25000 by FIFA. After Argentina qualified to the South Africa 2010 World Cup tournament thanks a 1-0 away victory against Uruguay, Maradona showed up on TV and started making a series of scathing declarations at his critics. FIFA considered that too much and handed out a punishment on Maradona who appologized at the hearing but not sufficient to avoid his 2-month suspension which runs untill 15 January 2010.
